Our Guides in the Sacred Wild

  • The Pythia of Delphi: Becoming the Oracle

Before Delphi became the renowned sanctuary of Apollo, the land was sacred to Gaia and the mysteries of the surrounding mountains and caves.

As we explore the origins of the Pythia, we will uncover how ancient priestesses cultivated relationships with prophecy, intuition, and divine guidance.

This theme, practiced each week of class, invites you to begin walking the path of the oracle, developing your own capacity to listen deeply, receive wisdom, and trust the voice of spirit.

  • Maia, Eldest of the Pleiades: Trance Journeys with the Mountain Mother

Maia, eldest of the Pleiades and mother of Hermes, is deeply connected to the mysteries of the mountain cave where she gave birth to the messenger god. Her story speaks to the power of retreating into sacred darkness in order to receive insight, creativity, and transformation.

Through myth, meditation, and guided trance journeying, we will explore Maia’s cave as a living temple on the astral and deepen our connection to the wisdom that emerges from within.

  • Magia of the Maenads: Embodying the Earth Temple Arts Through the Frame Drum and Sacred Postures

The Maenads embodied a sacred relationship with ecstasy, nature, and the divine through movement, rhythm, and ritual. Their traditions remind us that spiritual wisdom is not only found in the mind, but also within the body itself.

Through embodiment practices, sacred postures from Mycenean and Minoan pre-patriarchal cultures, and work with the frame drum, we will explore how rhythm, movement, and presence can awaken deeper connection to ourselves, the land, and the sacred.

  • Artemis: Awakening the Sacred Wild Within and Without

Artemis calls us into a deeper relationship with our instinctive nature, the land spirits of the earth, and the untamed wisdom that resides within our ancient souls.

Through her mysteries as Portia Theron, Mistress of the Wilds, we learn to reclaim our connection to the wild places both within ourselves and across the landscape, cultivating courage, sovereignty, and presence.

Artemis invites you to awaken your Sacred Wild nature, strengthening your relationship with self, spirit, and the living world that surrounds you for a life lived with greater peace and empowerment.
